Wi-Fi is available in our tearooms only, please ask a member of staff for login details.

Wheelchair Access and Lift

All parts of the museum and its galleries are fully accessible to wheelchair users.

Toilets and Baby Changing Facilities

Toilets are available on both floors of the museum and baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor.

Disabled Parking

Parking permits obtained from the reception along with your orange/blue badge provide access to two disabled bays in the museum car park, located off Taw Vale (EX32 8LN).

Bike Racks

Several bike racks are located outside the museum and opposite in the surrounding square.


Assistance dogs are welcomed at the museum.

First Aid and Response

Our full time staff are all trained in First Aid and the museum holds a defibrillator on-site.

Accessibility Guide

Partnering with Visit England the museum has created a downloadable Accessibility Guide for visitors. The guide advises on navigating our building and collections and looks to ensure an inclusive museum experience for all.
